Hello, and welcome to The Snail Shelter
The Snail Shelter was started in 1994 by myself after I was asked to take in some unwanted giant African land snails. Word grew, and soon I was taking in and rehoming hundreds of snails and other exotic invertebrates such as tarantulas and stick insects.
I have appeared in newspapers and magazines in both the UK and USA, and have also appeared on UK television with my invertebrates.
I have been to many schools, Brownie and Scout groups, nurseries and private parties presenting Bugs On Tour, a fully interactive experience where children and adults alike get to meet and hold lots of real live bugs, ask questions, have their photographs taken and learn all about these fascinating creatures.

Here at The Snail Shelter we aim to give advice on and help home any and all exotic invertebrates, which normal rescue centers may struggle with.
If you have any questions, be it adoption, rehoming, or general enquiries, please email me on the Contact Page and I shall get back to you as soon as I can.
